Privacy Policy

Last updated April 20, 2026

Ocean Isle Beach Pier (“we,” “our”) respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect through oib-pier.comand how we use it. Short version: we collect as little as possible, we don’t sell your data, and you can ask us to delete anything we have.

What we collect

  • Newsletter email addresses — if you sign up on the homepage, we store your email so we can send you occasional pier news.
  • Catch photos and captions — if you submit a catch photo, we store the image, your caption, and the optional name you provide so we can display it in the catch gallery after a quick staff review.
  • Standard server logs — our hosting provider (Vercel) records basic information like IP address and request URLs for security and performance purposes. These logs are rotated and not used for marketing.

What we don’t collect

  • We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
  • We don’t sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers.
  • We don’t require an account to browse the site.

How we use your information

  • Emailis used only to send newsletter updates you’ve subscribed to. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Catch photos are displayed publicly on the site after staff approval.
  • Server logs are used only for security, debugging, and basic traffic insights.

Third parties we use

  • Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
  • Sanity — content management and image storage.
  • NOAA / SurfChex — we embed tide data and live webcam feeds from public services. We do not share your information with them.

Your choices

You can ask us to remove your email from our list or delete any catch photos you’ve submitted at any time. Just contact us using the information below.
